History of Beach Renourishments

A nice swell rolls in as man pushes the sand out. WB, NC, 2002, photo by S.E. Ahlum

Below, you will find images of Wrightsville Beach's Renourishment Project, which occurred in the spring of 2002.  The images show Wrightsville Beach's famed surf break, Columbia Street, during the height of the project.  We hope to bring you a detailed history of all of Wrightsville Beach's renourishment projects as the information becomes available.  Once we have completed the project for Wrightsville Beach, the chapter will work to chronicle the other area beaches.  If you have any information, or would like to get involved with the project, please contact Sean Ahlum.
