Action Alerts:
1.) Bag It Bellingham: Thank you everyone for making this campaign such a success! This fabulous community effort was able to pass a plastic grocery bag ban, along with implementing a 5 cent fee on paper bags. Bellingham City Council passed it 7-0! Follow the blog!
2.) Cherry Point needs your help! SSA Marine along with several others are planning to export as much as 48 million tons of coal annually from the Powder River Basin and off our coast to China. Along with increasing global climate change, this proposed project could have extremely negative impacts on our marine environment, human health, traffic, economy, and overall well-being. Please sign the petition today: http://www.thepetitionsite.com/1/protectcherrypoint/ or let Governor Gregoire and Public Lands Commissioner Peter Goldmark know that this project is unacceptable. Read the facts here.
